Pelzer and West Pelzer Sewer Improvements
In late 2024, Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) initiated three projects to rehabilitate and relocate sewer lines in the towns of Pelzer and West Pelzer. This work is expected to continue through 2026.
As of Dec. 22, 2025, the Pelzer and West Pelzer sewer improvement projects remain on schedule. More than 4,174 linear feet of new sewer installation has been completed, with 38 out of 93 service laterals and 29 out of 63 manholes successfully installed. Additionally, 17 out of 18 point repairs have been completed. The bore-and-jack under the railroad near Courtney Street has been completed. Additionally, 8,632 linear feet of trenchless rehabilitation via cured-in-place pipe liner have been installed.
In the next few weeks, sewer installations will continue on Allen and Ramsey streets. Also, there will be some traffic control on Courtney Street between Lebby and Burts streets. Additionally, the bore-and-jacks under the railroads near Paul and Lopez streets will be installed, and the rest of the 1,079 linear feet of cured-in-place pipe liner will be installed.
These projects are funded by a $10 million federal grant distributed through the South Carolina Infrastructure Investment Program.
Conestee Sewer Improvements
Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) is constructing a new pump station and force main to support wastewater capacity needs in the Conestee area.
Construction is scheduled to begin in November 2025 and is anticipated to last through 2026. Portions of the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail between its Parkins Mill Road trailhead and ReWa’s Campus will be closed for a few months in 2026.
These projects are being funded by a $10 million federal grant distributed through the South Carolina Infrastructure Investment Program.
