Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) has contracted construction services to clean, inspect, rehabilitate, replace or relocate sewer mains and service laterals in the Pelzer and West Pelzer communities through the end of 2026. A contractor began cleaning and inspecting the system in late 2024 to identify lines needing to be rehabilitated or repaired.

This work is being done through a $10 million South Carolina Infrastructure Investment Program grant.

The SCIIP grant will support relocating and replacing almost 9,200 linear feet of sewer line while installing 63 manholes and replacing 93 service lines.

Sewer lines are being relocated to the road’s right of way. CHA Consulting has assisted ReWa with the project’s design.

Property owners have been contacted if contractors need access to their property. Residents should also be on the lookout for door hangers alerting them when work will be done in their neighborhood, possible interruptions and numbers to call if they have questions.
