Jun Xiao named to ‘Best & Brightest’ list

Jun Xiao, ReWa's GIS administrator, is among 38 people named to a "Best and Brightest" list by business publications from across South Carolina.

GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA (Sept. 18, 2025)—Renewable Water Resources’ (ReWa) Jun Xiao was named to a 2025 “Best and Brightest” list consisting of professionals under age 35 from Charleston, Columbia, Greenville and the state’s Grand Strand and Pee Dee regions.

Xiao, GIS administrator, develops geospatial systems that support data-driven decision-making involving ReWa’s critical infrastructure. She’s also the president of the Greenville County Geographic Information Alliance while focusing on strengthening collaboration across public organizations.

Thirty-eight people were selected for the list, and each was asked to define a successful leader. Xiao’s response was:

“I believe a successful leader inspires and influences others toward a shared vision by building trust, leading by example and showing empathy — not relying solely on authority.”

She’s worked with ReWa for five years.

“I’ve had the privilege of working with Jun for a few years, and she constantly surprises me with the innovative ways she approaches any task at hand,” said Miranda McBride, ReWa’s geospatial services program manager. “The work she does is only a small part of what makes her incredibly worthy of this award. Her character, skill, ability, intelligence and creativity make her a ‘Swiss Army Knife,’ who can accomplish anything she sets her mind to.”

Greenville Business Magazine, Charleston Business, Columbia Business Monthly, B2B: The Grand Strand and B2B: Pee Dee Business compiled the list. Click here to see the complete list.
