GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA—The community is invited to participate in a WaterSC Listening Session on April 10 from 6-8 p.m. on the Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) Innovation Campus at 560 Mauldin Road.
Participants can share thoughts on water use and preservation efforts in South Carolina.
“Water plays a vital role in our everyday lives,” said Kaleigh Sims, ReWa’s director of regulatory and environmental services. “Equitable access and availability to this limited natural resource is crucial to the well-being of our current and future communities in South Carolina. We invite the public to learn more about the state water planning efforts while offering your valuable input to protect this resource for generations to come.”
The WaterSC Water Resources Working Group was established in 2024 to update the state’s water plan, which was last revised in 2004. WaterSC will use data from the state’s eight river basin councils to update the plan. ReWa is a member of the Saluda River Basin Council.
ReWa is one of three sites across the state hosting a WaterSC Listening Session. The other sites are the Penn Center on St. Helena Island on April 8 from 6-8 p.m. and the Pee Dee Research and Education Center in Florence on April 9 from 6-8 p.m.
