ReWa Shares Environmental Education Best Practices at Statewide Conference
Greenville, S.C. (April 3, 2014) – Renewable Water Resources’ (ReWa) presented the “Be Freshwater Friendly” campaign during a session at the annual South Carolina Environmental Conference (SCEC) in March.
“Be Freshwater Friendly” is an educational campaign designed to inform the community on how small changes in their day-to-day actions can have a great impact on the local environment and aquatic resources. The educational and environmentally friendly campaign aims to educate people of all ages on how to protect the finite resources- our watershed and local waterways.
Participants at the conference included staff from agencies similar to ReWa and technical personnel from all across the state of South Carolina. Attendees for this particular session were educated on the development and implementation of ReWa’s successful environmental awareness campaign.
Ashley Rhinehart, public relations coordinator for ReWa, presented the information during the session. “It was a great experience to inform similar utilities of the positive effects “Be Freshwater Friendly” has on the waterways in this area, and plans to expand the campaign are in the works. It is very exciting to share this information with the residents of South Carolina as well as technical colleagues that may want to start a campaign of their own,” said Rhinehart.
