SCDHEC Recognizes Renewable Water Resources For Environmental Sustainability Efforts

Posted April 11, 2014 in Articles

Greenville, S.C. (April 11, 2014)-Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) facilities received the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) Facility Excellence Awards for calendar year 2013.

All eight ReWa facilities were presented the award at the South Carolina Environmental Conference in March of this year. The facilities that have received the awards are Piedmont Regional, Lower Reedy, Pelham, Mauldin Road, Georges Creek, Marietta, Durbin Creek and Gilder Creek.

The SCDHEC Facility Excellence Awards evaluate each facility’s collection system, employee training, treatment plant, pump stations, pretreatment programs, customer service and public education to determine the winners. Facilities are encouraged to elaborate on specific projects implemented during the year. ReWa highlighted its Be Freshwater Friendly and Pipe Patrol campaigns and its Project Rx drug take-back event in all eight facility applications.
