ReWa has more than 10,000 solar panels at its water resource recovery facilities (WRRFs) that produce 4.5 million kWh of energy per year.

HARNESSING THE SUN, SUSTAINING THE EARTH

ReWa generates clean energy through solar panels located at 4 Water Resource Recovery Facility sites, producing approximately 4 million kWh of energy annually. Actual production may vary based on weather, sunlight, and efficiency, but this is enough to:

  • Power 333 homes for a year

  • Offset carbon emissions equivalent to burning 3,000 tons of coal

  • Prevent emissions equal to taking 650 cars off the road

A DIFFERENT KIND OF FARM

ReWa uses sheep to manage vegetation around our solar panels instead of traditional mowing. This sustainable practice:

  • Reduces emissions from machinery

  • Protects plant roots, as sheep graze without uprooting vegetation

  • Prevents damage to solar panels (unlike goats, sheep don’t climb!)

FUN FACT: Our sheep, a crossbreed of St. Croix and Katahdin, are low-maintenance and weather-resilient, making them ideal for this task.

CLEAN ENERGY, SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES

By combining renewable energy with innovative land management, ReWa demonstrates a strong commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable operations.
