Bower, PE, brings more than 30 years of experience to ReWa as the regional utility's next engineering director. She will begin her new role in early April.
GREENVILLE — Rebecca Bowyer, PE, will soon be joining Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) as the leading wastewater utility’s new engineering director.
Bowyer has more than 30 years of practical experience in South Carolina’s water and sewer industries in both the public and private sectors, including her most recent post as the engineering director for the Beaufort-Jasper Water and Sewer Authority.
In addition to her strong track record of professional service at municipal utilities in the Piedmont and Lowcountry regions of the state, Bowyer has also earned the confidence of her peers who recently elected her to serve as chairperson of the South Carolina chapter of the American Water Works Association’s (SCAWWA) Water Loss Committee. In addition, Bowyer has also supported SCAWWA in the development of a “Women in Water” initiative that will soon launch its first activities planned in recognition of “Women’s History Month.”
“Rebecca’s professional credentials are a powerful indicator of her ability to lead our engineering program at ReWa,” David Niesse, Technical Services Officer, said. “We are excited to welcome her to both our organization and the vibrant Upstate community that ReWa proudly serves.”
Bowyer said she is thrilled to join ReWa and looks forward to helping the utility deliver the innovative, mission-based services that they provide.
“It’s an understatement to say that I’m excited,” said Bowyer. “The work that ReWa does is critical to so many important elements, from the environment, to the economy and to our shared public health. I am grateful for the opportunity to play a role in all of these efforts.”
She holds both a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, and a master’s degree in Environmental Systems Engineering from Clemson University. Bowyer will begin her new position in early April, ReWa officials said.
