Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) teams continue to monitor one site following weather-related sewer overflows. Samples and laboratory analyses have found that water quality at four of five overflow sites has returned to normal. On Dec. 27, ReWa restored operations at five sites where Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSOs) occurred during heavy rains on Tuesday, Dec. 26. Water quality levels have returned to normal at four of those sites. The utility continues to test samples near Melbourne Lane within the Enoree River Basin in Greenville.
All reported SSOs on Dec. 26 were caused by heavy rains, and the overflows noted above were measured to reflect volumes of more than 5,000 gallons. Proper notifications have been made to all proper regulatory authorities, including the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC).
