Renewable Water Resources and MetroConnects are partnering to develop a plan to address potential hazards that could affect the delivery of the community’s wastewater services. As part of this process, the utilities are seeking public input to ensure the plan reflects and incorporates all voices from the regions they serve.
These efforts are being undertaken to help both utilities achieve alignment in a shared approach that addresses efforts to work together in the preparation for both natural and human-made hazards that pose a risk to their respective service areas.
ReWa will host two public education presentations on Monday, April 24, at 2:30 and 4 p.m., respectively, in the board room at its corporate headquarters at 561 Mauldin Road in Greenville. In addition, community residents are encouraged to complete a brief, anonymous survey that will provide both utilities with critical input on the proactive management of future hazard events. “We are committed to protecting health and clean water,” ReWa officials said. “Critical to both organizations is preparing for natural and humanmade hazards. The public’s input will help us, along with MetroConnects, develop a Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) to proactively address hazards (e.g., flooding, winter storms) that pose a risk to our shared wastewater services.”
