Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) has restored operations that lead to a Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) at approximately 2:35 p.m. on Monday. The overflow was contained immediately by ReWa collections and maintenance crews and ended a little more than an hour later at 3:50 p.m.

The proper notifications were made to all appropriate regulatory agencies, in addition to any downstream water intakes serving in the vicinity of Fork Shoals Road and the I-185 corridor near Simpsonville, officials said.

According to the ReWa officials, the SSO was the result of a sewer line break that affected the operations of a force main in the area noted above.

This event will NOT affect ReWa’s ability to provide sewer service to the area and will also NOT affect the drinking water.

Pending further review, ReWa will continue to post updates regarding progress and new details as they become available. For additional information, please contact our hotline at (864) 299-4004. Any updates will be posted as a “news alert” at the top of our homepage at www.ReWaonline.org.
