Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) has restored operations that lead to a Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) at approximately 2:35 p.m. on Monday. The overflow was contained immediately by ReWa collections and maintenance crews and ended a little more than an hour later at 3:50 p.m.
The proper notifications were made to all appropriate regulatory agencies, in addition to any downstream water intakes serving in the vicinity of Fork Shoals Road and the I-185 corridor near Simpsonville, officials said.
According to the ReWa officials, the SSO was the result of a sewer line break that affected the operations of a force main in the area noted above.
This event will NOT affect ReWa’s ability to provide sewer service to the area and will also NOT affect the drinking water.
