Pollution Prevention Awards

In 1993 Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) held its first Annual Pollution Prevention Award presentation. As part of our continuing effort to recognize industries for their environmental efforts, ReWa annually presents a Pollution Prevention Award. The industry with the best pollution prevention program will be chosen by a committee made-up of ReWa personnel and members of the Greenville Chamber Environmental Issues Committee.

Renewable Water Resources Presents P2 Award to Mitsubishi Polyester Film in 2014

ReWa presented the Pollution Prevention (P2) award for 2014 to Mitsubishi Polyester Film, Inc. for their advanced pollution prevention initiatives. Ray T. Orvin, Jr., executive director at ReWa, presented the award to Mitsubishi Polyester Film.

The Pollution Prevention Recognition Program was created by ReWa to encourage the abatement of pollution through preventative measures. Many industries on the ReWa system have pursued innovative ways of preventing pollution through waste minimization, water conservation, recycling, product reformulation and toxic materials substitution.

ReWa presents the award to an industry in the upstate on an annual basis and winners are selected by a committee comprised of representatives from the Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce and ReWa.

“Mitsubishi Polyester Film is an abiding partner with ReWa in promoting a cleaner environment as evidenced by their excellent pretreatment compliance record. The achievement of earning the 2014 Renewable Water Resources Pollution Prevention Award is further demonstration of their continuous dedication to exemplary environmental stewardship” said Joel Jones, Pretreatment Program Manager.
